====== Starters ====== Starters in PokéRogue refer to all Pokémon within the game that have been unlocked by a player. New Pokémon can be unlocked as Starters either through catching them or hatching them from eggs. New players will intially have access to all starter Pokémon from the mainline Pokémon games (Generations i-ix) to use as their Starters in Pokérogue. \\ ====== Cost ====== Starters each have a base Cost associated with them, ranging from 1 – 10. This value can be seen on the Starter selection screen just above and to the left of each Pokémon. The sum of all Starter Costs for the Pokémon on a player's team can be seen just above the “Start” button in the Starter selection screen, along with the max allowed total Cost for all Pokémon on a team. The base Cost of a Pokémon can be reduced by using candies. \\ ====== Egg Moves ====== If a Pokémon has not yet learned all of their Egg Moves, there's a chance they will unlock a new move upon hatching which can be added to their starting moveset for a new game. Each Pokémon has 4 Egg Moves: 3 common and 1 rare. Rare moves are less likely to be unlocked, but chances can be increased by selecting the Move UP! Egg Gacha machine on the left when using vouchers. \\ ====== Candies ====== If a starter has a baby form, only the baby receives candy. Candies for a Pokémon can be obtained by catching, hatching, or raising friendship with that Pokémon. The progress to gain a candy from friendship is shown on the Pokémon info screen. The candy icon next to the Pokémon's name will fill relative to friendship gain. (A nearly full Zacian candy and an empty Talonflame candy ) When a Pokémon is caught or hatched: ^ Event ^ Candy Received ^ | Caught | +1 | | Hatched | +2 | * If the Pokémon caught was a Boss, Candy Received **x2** * If the Pokémon caught/hatched is a common shiny, Candy Received **x5** * If the Pokémon caught/hatched is a variant rare shiny, Candy Received **x10** * If the Pokémon caught/hatched is a variant epic shiny, Candy Received **x20** \\ ===== Using Candies ===== To use Candies, you must be on the Starter Select screen and have the Pokémon that you wish to use Candies for unlocked, then you must select the Pokémon and navigate to Use Candies.
