Gym Leaders

  • In classic mode you will battle 6 Gym Leaders, starting at either wave 20 or 30 and then appearing every 30 waves after the first one you fight, and with the correct pathing through biomes you can even fight the same Gym Leader multiple times in a single run.
  • Any Gym Leader fought on a wave equal to or past wave 100 will have 1 Terastalized Pokemon of their specialty type.
  • The 6 Gym Leaders you battle against in classic will follow this pattern:
    • Gym Leader 1 will have 1 Pokemon of average level compared to your party, and 1 Pokemon that is equal in level to your highest leveled Party Member.
    • Gym Leader 2 will have 1 Pokemon of average level compared to your party, 1 Pokemon that is equal in level to your highest leveled Party Member, and 1 Pokemon that is a higher level than your highest leveled Party Member.
    • Gym Leader 3 will have 2 Pokemon of average level compared to your party, 1 Pokemon that is equal in level to your highest leveled Party Member, and 1 Pokemon that is a higher level than your highest leveled Party Member.
    • Gym Leader 4 will have 3 Pokemon of average level compared to your party, 1 Pokemon that is equal in level to your highest leveled Party Member, and 1 Pokemon that is a higher level than your highest leveled Party Member.
    • Gym Leaders 5 and 6 will have 3 Pokemon of average level compared to your party, 2 Pokemon that are equal in level to your highest leveled Party Member, and 1 Pokemon that is a higher level than your highest leveled Party Member.
  • You do not earn badges from Gym Leaders in PokeRogue.
  • In the Daily Run mode Gym Leaders will appear on waves 20, 30, and 40, these gym leaders will follow the same templates as seen above: Gym Leader 2, Gym Leader 3, and Gym Leader 3 again.
  • When a Gym Leader is set to have more Pokemon in their party than are in their fixed pool, they will acquire random pokemon that follow their specialty type.

In PokeRogue, Certain Gym Leaders have a chance of challenging you to a Double Battle.

  • These double battles will only give you the reward for defeating the first trainer, for example, defeating Tate and Liza will give you the applicable voucher for defeating Tate only.
  • The current Double Gym Leader Battles you can face are as follows:
    • Tate & Liza OR Liza & Tate
